Investors continued their street demonstration against the fall of prices of shares for second consecutive day in front of Chittagong Stock Exchange in the port city today.
In spite of downpour several hundred small traders of the capital market took to the streets at Agrabad Shafi Motors Building in front of the CSE at around 12.30 pm.
They formed human chain and organized protest rally under the banner of Investors Forum of Chittagong demanding immediate steps by the concerned authority to stabilise the share market.
"Our three day programme will continue till Thursday (September 15) and will announce stronger agitation movement from tomorrow's rally," said Aslam Murshed, convenor of the IFC.
Referring to the recent steps taken by the Bangladesh Bank he sought one year extension of the single party exposure limit and early steps to remove liquidity crisis in the capital market.
He alleged that the wrong policies of the central bank and statements of finance minister have destabilized the capital market. They have submitted a five-point charter of demand through the CSE, he added.
Co-convenors of the IFC Saroj Chowdhury and MA Kader also addressed the rally.
