An investor of Phoenix Finance Securities suffered a massive heart attack during trading hours at the DSE Monday.
The investor was identified as Nuruzzaman (55) who started stock trading at the brokerage house three years ago.
Mr Nuruzzaman was admitted to the Labaid Cardiac Hospital in the city.
Officials of the Phoenix Finance said Mr Nuruzzaman suffered heart attack at around 12:30pm while he was in the brokerage house and soon he was rushed to the hospital.
The officials of the brokerage house also told the FE that Mr Nururzzaman had four investors account with them.
In his accounts he has equities worth more than Tk 0.8 million of his own and the rest of the equities of his portfolio have been availed as margin loan.
In the recent market fall Mr Nuruzzaman lost all his equities and he was about to face trigger sale. He used to avail margin loan at 1:1 ratio.
Vice President of Phoenix Securities Khondoker Shafiqur Rahim told the FE that following the directive of Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) his house did not go for any trigger sale.
